About StackerSpot
StackerSpot is a live scoreboard for physical bullion. It tracks the current spot price of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, then ranks the major dealers by the single number that matters most to a stacker: the premium over spot — how much above the metal's spot value each product actually costs.
How it works
We pull live spot prices and read each dealer's publicly listed product prices, then normalize everything to a common basis (metal, weight, and pack size) so offers can be compared like-for-like. Premium is calculated from dealer and spot prices captured together during each dealer crawl, so a later spot move cannot distort an older dealer price. Our dealer Premium Index scores each dealer by its average distance from the typical premium in every category it competes in — so a dealer is judged on price, not on what it happens to stock.
Editorial process: who, how, and why
Who. StackerSpot's guides and comparisons are published by the StackerSpot Team. The byline identifies the accountable publisher rather than inventing an individual reviewer or implying professional financial credentials we do not have.
How. We use software automation and AI-assisted tools to collect and organize public data and to help draft and edit explanatory content. Before publication, factual claims and product specifications are checked against official sources; calculations, links, metadata, and rendered pages are checked with automated tests and live production audits. Live tables are generated from structured dealer and spot-price captures, carry a timestamp, and link readers to the dealer page so the executable price can be verified.
Why. We publish this material to help bullion buyers compare measurable prices, premiums, product specifications, and checkout tradeoffs without opening every dealer page or treating an advertised “as low as” tier as a one-unit price. Search visibility supports that purpose; it does not determine a dealer's ranking or our conclusions.
Pricing basis
Prices shown are each dealer's cash / check / wire price — the lower price most dealers display by default. Paying by credit card typically runs about 4% higher. Premium reflects the product price versus spot value only; it is not landed cost. A “Shipping included” badge appears only when the displayed single-unit subtotal meets a dealer threshold we verified from an official policy. Taxes, payment fees, geographic exclusions, and multi-item cart totals can still change the checkout total, so always confirm the dealer's terms.
